Custom Roller Shades

Quality That Lasts !

  • Finest Quality Since 1930
  • Our Materials are Extremely Washable
  • Still Handmade in Chicago, USA
  • Extensive Trim Selection

Now in our third generation of family ownership, Zwick Window Shade Company has been manufacturing custom window shades since 1930.  Still handmade with pride in our Chicago workshop, each one of our window shades uses the finest components available.

Roller shades have been popular since they were invented in the late 1800's, and for good reason.  They are sleek, economical, easy to operate, easy to maintain, and child-safe.  They can also be layered with other window treatments for many different looks.  (Actually, the terms Roller Shades and Window Shades are one and the same, and in Europe, they are referred to as Roller Blinds.

Zwick uses only the best components from the United States and Europe, with a wide range of fabrics and weights to suit nearly any interior style or design -- and every fabric that we sell is thoroughly tested by us for durability and washability before it is offered for sale.

Each window shade is made to your exact specifications for each individual window, to ensure that they will look simply wonderful in your home!  For an additional discount if you are replacing existing shades, send in your old rollers -- we'll recycle / reuse  them for your new shades, saving you materials, time and money.

Do you want to sift light through an elegant sheer?  Create a darkened room for energy savings or a calming atmosphere? Balance privacy and energy savings with a light-filtering fabric?

Zwick's extensive selection of fabrics, trims, and window shade pulls allows you to be as creative as you wish.  From versatile neutrals to bright colors or period combinations, all of the patterns and trims are mix and match, and are interchangeable on most of our fabrics.  We also offer you a choice of regular (forward) or reverse roll direction, your choice of roller mechanisms, inside, outside, or ceiling mount brackets in several finishes, and lots of assistance in making your choices and measurements.

Over the years we have made window shades for Bungalow, Victorian, and Craftsman (Arts and Crafts) homes, and period-correct shades and window treatments for notable historic buildings around the country, including the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio in Oak Park, Illinois, Fort Laramie National Historic Site at Fort Laramie, Wyoming, and many others.

Are you planning a renovation or restoration of a historic property?  Or do you simply like the retro, vintage style and wish to recreate that feeling in your home?  For a unique, custom, high-quality, yet still affordable window treatment option, call us to learn more about Zwick roller shades today.

We are just  a phone call or an email away and happy to help you through the choices of window shade material, scallop and trim options. Any questions you have about colors or measuring for roller/window shades, please do ask !    Terms & Conditions    About Us    Contact Us    FAQ
